Is now really a good time to buy Gold?

I have heard many commercials on the radio touting the importance of buying gold NOW, etc., due to weakening US Dollar and other factors. What do you all think? Is this something that is a good investment? I am smart with my investments and have other stocks and mutual funds, and understand diversification to some extent.
