As a custodial parent, can I choose to home school my child if the non custodial parent is opposed to the idea?
There is an organization call home school legal defense. You should be able to find them on the web.You can contact them and see if they can give you information on your rights in the state in which you live. But, if you feel strongly about homeschooling your daughter then do so and let him take you into court. He will have to prove to the judge that what your are doing is not in the best interest of you child.Which is something he wont be able to do.With violence in schools and the overall failure of the education system in general.Homeschooling is a common thing these days.Has for his argument about her not being able to get into college. He is out of gas on that one some schools even ivy league ones are not only admitting home schoolers. They are holdins for preferred enrollment of home schoolers. My son just turned eleven and has been home schooled his whole life. And he is already in 7th grade. He will graduate from high school by the time he is between 14 and 15 years old. If done properly than home schooling your children can give them a leg up on the rest of the children their age. Most of the kids in the organization we are a part of are years ahead of the public schooled kids their age.In fact, all of my sons friends except for one are public schooled and are the same age has him are 2 to 3 grade levels behind him.His best friend is a full year older than him and goes to a private school and is 3 full grades below my son.
