How come my sch-u740 from verizon menu talks?

every time i go to a new menu item on my new cell phone a very annoying womans voice goes "contacts,messaging,get it now,settings and tools,etc." i've been trying for a couple of days and i can't seem to find a way to turn this feature off. if any of you have any idea as to get rid of this,your help is greatly appreciated.
